Walter Angus is is a seedstock operation producing 200 reg. calves and 200 commercial calves each year. We focus on genetics. We believe the genetics of udder quality, structural soundness and disposition are second to none in the bulls and heifers we offer for sale.

Walter Angus is a ranching, farming family operation that has spanned for over four generations. The ranch headquarters is located 11 miles north of Hudson, CO. We farm in the Ft.Lupton, Platteville, and Hudson areas, growing corn, wheat, alfalfa, and grass forages. Our main pasturelands are in south-central Weld County and we have mountain summer pasture in Granby and the Frasier Valley. I have owned Black Angus Cattle since I was eight years old. My parents gave me a heifer, Barbara Blackcap of SAA, purchased from our neighbor Bill Frank. Since that beginning, now forty five years later, we've continuously built a functional and productive commercial Angus cowherd. In 2003 I was given the opportunity to work into a partnership with Roy Wardell of Wardell Angus. That was a wonderful blessing that I am very thankful for today. That was the start of WXW and is now Walter Angus of Hudson, CO.

All of our bulls and heifers that we offer for sale will have length, capacity and muscle. Each bull will be fertility and semen tested, scrotal measured, PAP scored, BVD tested and ultra-sound scanned for carcass merit. We have a comprehensive up to date vaccination program. You will see that our cattle have complete and balanced EPD's, are moderate framed, structually sound and have maternal strength. We offer bulls that are calving ease for heifers, moderate birth with high growth and for cows with the capacity, REAL POWER. Our cattle perform in both the plains and mountain environments, the feedlot, and on the carcass quality grids.

Our bull and heifer sale is the last Saturday of February at 1:00 PM every year. In cases of extreme weather we would hold the sale the next Saturday. We provide live auction bidding if unable to attend in person. There is a complimentary lunch starting at 11:00 AM. You are welcome to visit any time. I would encourage you to spend time in the big bull pen evaluating and getting to know our bulls prior to the sale. Just give us a call.
